Social Responsibility
Message from a Socially Responsible mass leader: On their two-day Workshop at Parivarthane on July 23 & 24, 2025.
At the start-up session it was suggested that community workers should set up a business or industry so that they can volunteer some of their time for the underprivileged.
During the feedback session, most of the youth said that they are eagerly waiting to attend EDP. Our volunteer group is grateful to your kind hospitality. We are also impressed by the sincere service of your staff. Most importantly, the serenity of the Parivartane has filled us with a divine feeling.
Altogether, it was an exciting experience. We are anticipating many more meetings with you & visiting the tapovan of Parivartane.
Inclusive Chess!
A modest beginning has been made to promote chess among children studying in Government Schools. This inclusive programme can also receive CSR support. The Pichamuthu family—who were involved in promoting chess in a substantial way decades ago—represented by Mr. David Pichamuthu, a leading professional from the Indian mineral industries sector, and Dr. Raja Mugasimangalam, a BioTech and IT sector entrepreneur and a strong chess player himself, met with a few teachers at The (Chess) Academy nurtured by the Erin Foundation on Saturday, the 6th of July. The meeting was held in the sylvan surroundings of Parivarthane in Anekal Taluk.
Both the Pichamuthu family (including Prasanna Kumar Pichamuthu) and Dr. Raja Mugasimangalam, along with his company Genotypic Technology Pvt. Ltd., have committed financial support for the programme. During 2025–26, chess clubs will be started in 25 schools.
Chess International Clubs of the 70s and 80s will be supported for revival. In the picture below, children of Indlawadi Government Higher Primary School (an interior area of Anekal Taluk) are playing on chess boards gifted by VOLVO India Foundation.
The Erin Foundation and the Centre for Public Policy at IIM-B have joined hands to open a Chess Club in the Government School in Marsur, Anekal Taluk. This will serve as the learning hub for a few surrounding schools. Similar hubs are planned for Indlawadi in Anekal Taluk, as well as for the South-2 and North-3 blocks in Bengaluru, and in Malur. Sansera Foundation, IIM-B, Sahuwala Grains, and VOLVO have committed support, in addition to a major contribution by the family and by Genotypic Technology Pvt. Ltd. of Dr. Raja Mugasimangalam.
